Putting Idaho First: Rebuilding Trust in Our Government

By Kenneth F. Brungardt
As I travel across Idaho—visiting rural communities, farms, small businesses, and town halls—I hear a familiar theme in almost every conversation: “We just want someone in Washington who remembers what it means to live here.” People feel overlooked, overregulated, and increasingly disconnected from the decisions being made in D.C.
I understand those frustrations—because I feel them too. I was born and raised in Idaho. I’ve lived the values of faith, hard work, and family. And I’m running for Congress to bring common sense and real accountability back to government.
The Problem: A Government That’s Forgotten the People
Let’s be honest—Washington is broken. Special interests dictate too much of our policy. Career politicians prioritize headlines over hard work. And the result? A bloated, unresponsive system that’s out of step with the needs of everyday Americans.
Too many families are struggling to keep up with rising costs. Farmers and ranchers are tied up in red tape. Veterans are waiting too long for care. And young Idahoans wonder if they’ll ever be able to own a home or start a family without drowning in debt.
This isn’t the America we were promised. But it can be the America we rebuild—if we start listening again.
My Vision: Restore the Power of the People
I’m not a politician—I’m a neighbor, a father, and a lifelong public servant. My commitment is to represent Idaho values in Washington—not the other way around.
Here’s how we do that:
Fight for Working Families
- Cut inflation-driving policies and reduce the cost of living.
- Support small businesses with lower taxes and less regulation.
- Expand job training programs that connect Idahoans to good-paying, high-demand careers.
Protect Our Constitutional Liberties
- Defend the Second Amendment, religious freedom, and free speech.
- Oppose federal overreach that undermines state rights and individual liberties.
Champion Rural Communities
- Invest in infrastructure like roads, water systems, and broadband.
- Provide fair support for agriculture, forestry, and rural entrepreneurship.
- Stop one-size-fits-all federal policies that ignore local needs.
Ensure Transparency and Accountability
- Support term limits and push for stronger ethics rules in Congress.
- Publish my voting record and hold regular public town halls—because elected officials should be accountable to you.
The Idaho Way: Service Over Politics
I’m not in this race for a title. I’m in it for the same reason you get up every day and do what’s right—for your family, your neighbors, and your future. I believe government should serve people, not power.
This is our moment to build something better. Idaho doesn’t need another politician who talks tough and delivers little. Idaho needs a leader who listens, leads with integrity, and fights with purpose.
Let’s bring the voice of Idaho back to Washington Join me—and let’s take back our future.
